We’re all familiar with posters. Whether mounted on a wall of an institution, pasted
repeatedly in the streets, or ‘blasted’ electronically through social media, posters are a
classic form of visual messaging.

“What do a red light and a poster have in common? Stopping power. As soon as
the traffic lights turn red, all wheeled road users jam on the brakes. A good
poster leads to a similar reaction. The difference is that a red light forces you to
stop, but a poster seduces.” (New Poster Art, p. 6)
